There’s a lot going on here at the bug house and we thought it was time – or perhaps a little overdue! – for a bit of an update.

First up, we are excited to announce the launch of our new satellite office in Brisbane. In fact, it is Queensland’s only dedicated commercial office for palynology and sedimentology services. This marks a significant milestone for our company and the region, bringing specialized geological expertise directly to the heart of Queensland.

With senior palynologist (and one of our directors) John Lignum, and our senior sedimentologist Amely Allgöwer, leading the charge, our Brisbane office is set to become a central point for innovation and expert solutions designed to meet the unique challenges of the dynamic palaeo-landscapes of Australia’s central and eastern basins. This expansion not only strengthens our ability to serve the East Coast geoscience community but also underscores our commitment to advancing the fields of palynology and sedimentology across the region.

What’s more, combined with our satellite office run by Carey Hannaford just out of Adelaide (SA), it gives us a solid network from which we can provide localized, experienced stratigraphical services right across the Eastern States – and right across Australia. From hydrogen exploration in SA, groundwater research across the Great Artesian Basin, archaeological studies with Qld universities, CCUS studies in VIC, and natural gas exploration in WA, our services can be tailored to suit your specific geographical needs.

The head office and lab remain in Perth (WA), and in fact, our lab is in the middle of a massive rebuild, one that will triple the size of our old lab and allow us to offer even more services. We will write a dedicated post on that soon, once the work is complete – and we have photos to share!

In the meantime, Carey, John and Amely are on hand if you want to catch up for a chat. MGPalaeo will also be at the PESA Qld Symposium on the 9th of September at the Brisbane Conference and Exhibition Centre, so if you are attending, drop by to say hi to our three east coasters, and let them know how they can help you.
