When: 16-18 September 2022
MGPalaeo are excited to be working with PESA WA on this fascinating adventure into the Perth Basin. And to whet your appetite for this, check out the fun had last time we ventured out this way: From the Pinnacles to post-glacial Permian Plays of the Perth Basin.
From PESA WA:
‘With continued exploration success and interest in the northern Perth Basin, PESA is delighted to offer the opportunity to visit some of the key outcrops in the basin under the expert guidance of Darren Ferdinando from BasinScience and Amely Allgoewer from MGPalaeo. The all-inclusive field trip, which includes coach travel from Perth and two nights full board and lodging in Dongara, will visit Lower Permian outcrops at Coalseam Conservation Park, and Triassic outcrops of the Kockatea Shale near Northampton, including stromatolites developed at the unconformity with the underlying Tumblagooda sandstone. The trip is timed to coincide with the peak of the wildflower season, which hopefully will be in full bloom at this time.
Cost: $1375 (inc. GST), including:
- Return coach travel from Perth
- Transport in the field
- Accommodation (single occupancy rooms) for two nights and all meals (2 x dinner, breakfast and packed lunches) at the Old Mill, Dongara
- Field guide and expert leadership in the field
Please note that for insurance reasons this trip is only open to PESA members. If you are not currently a member you will need to sign up before booking.’
