Jakarta Biostratigraphical Laboratory

Our strategic partnership with Intertek in Jakarta enables rapid, high-quality sample processing and analysis, supporting both rigsite and office-based biostratigraphic projects. MGPalaeo’s Jakarta-based team of technicians is led by Semuel Simon and Suharyanto; two amazing palynological preparators who bring levels of artistry to their work that you only get from decades of experience.

Semuel and Suharyanto have also spent the last two years training up the next generation of Indonesian palynology technicians to ensure we continue to build upon their depth of knowledge.

    • Conducted biostratigraphy workshops for the Timor-Leste government.​
    • Developed an extensive offshore geological database for Timor-Leste of over 100 wells, providing a robust foundation for exploration activities and mirroring our successful AUSTRALIS database.​
    • Performed high-resolution palynological analyses of outcrop samples and onshore wells across Timor-Leste.
    • Wiriagar Deep Palaeocene turbidite high-resolution biostratigraphy project (in partnership with Horizon) in the Bintuni Bay, West Papua.
    • West Papua Biostratigraphy multi-well project – high-resolution tropical Palaeocene palynology and palynofacies.
    • Established region-specific palynological zonations for the Rakhine Basin in Myanmar.​
